Student wants to study in UK from Bangladesh without IELTS is a widespread query these days. UK student visa without IELTS is not impossible at all. Like many others, you may also be wondering how a student can apply to UK universities without IELTS. IELTS is a language requirement to justify students’ English proficiency level to their desired level of proposed studies. Many UK universities are accepting admissions for an undergraduate and postgraduate level degree without IELTS or TOEFL.
However, UKVI has unique requirements for a General student visa (also known as Tier 4 student visa) in the UK. If you are an international student planning to study in the UK Foundation, Bachelor or Masters degree, you must provide evidence of Secure English language test (SELT) scores. UK public university also can conduct their English language test if the university is willing to do that.
IELTS can be waived for UK student visa!
There are few ways a student can submit their application without IETLS, TOELF, OIETC or PTE. Admission without SELT (IELTS/TOEFL) is not guaranteed. But many universities waiving students applications based on the following alternatives of the IELTS test
- The previous medium of study instructions was in English (also known as MOI)
- University own internal English test
- Applicant from majority English speaking country

A student also with IGCSE/A levels may get exempted from having IELTS or any other English language test. They must have an English course in IGCSE with a minimum C or equivalent grade, either Cambridge or Edexcel curriculum. Students from Bangla medium background e.g. H.S.C must have valid IELTS or equivalent English language test.
